HANDCUT FOODS CATERING POLICY

HandCut Foods is committed to providing the highest quality food and service to our communities here at the Loyola University Chicago Health Sciences Division. We consistently execute on this goal through responsible sourcing, from scratch cooking and client- focused hospitality. We understand that no two events are alike, so please use these menus as a starting point. Our team is happy to develop a menu and service style that is appropriate for your event. We always accommodate specific dietary and allergy concerns
Our onsite team is here to handle all the details of your event, from menu planning to day of execution. Hospitality is our specialty; your meeting and parties should be carefree with our team at the helm. We are an agile bunch that goes the extra mile to ensure satisfaction.
Orders are processed and events are generally executed 7:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. For evening and weekend times, please contact our catering department directly to set up your event:

All catering requests must be entered on the CaterTrax website (and approved if paying by LUMC Cost Center), at least 3 business days before the event date. We request a final guest count 2 business days before your event to guarantee a great outcome. Any requested changes to your guarantee should be received 2 business days prior to the event.
Larger events may require additional lead time. The final guest count for your event should be submitted no later than 2 business days prior to your event.
LAST MINUTE ORDERS
We’re here for you. Although we can’t make any guarantees for last minute orders, we will do our best to work some magic with HandCut Kitchen and provide you with food and service based on availability of product and current menu offerings. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and we’re willing to do almost anything to cover your last minute needs.
Orders cancelled less than 2 business days prior to the event may result in a 50% cancellation fee. Orders canceled without notice will result in charges for the full purchase order.
SERVICE CHARGE / FEES / MINIMUMS
Orders placed prior to 7am will be changed a $30 fee. There is no minimum required.
RENTAL ITEMS AND SPECIAL DECORATIONS
The catering department is able to place rental orders for tables, chairs, China, linens or tents including floral and special decorations to assist you in your event planning. You can speak directly with our catering department to plan your special event.
We will work with event requestors to schedule pick up times for any equipment used during your event. Please notify the catering department of any changes to the equipment pickup instructions to ensure proper service and removal. Equipment lost or misplaced may be subject to loss fees.
When disposables are required we choose biodegradable and ecofriendly options. There is an additional charge for the use of china, linen, glassware and stainless-ware.
UNCONSUMED FOOD AND BEVERAGES
To ensure that we meet all local, state and federal guidelines for food and safety and to protect you, our valued customer, it is our policy that no outside food or beverage will be permitted at the event or that leftover food or beverage may leave the event.
Catering requests received by Loyola University Medical Center Catering cannot be provided without one of the following approvals:
- Direct VP approval as gained by requestor selecting their respective VP in the CaterTrax drop-down box and subsequent VP approval of the Catering Service request in advance of the event.
- In the scenario when the requestor’s direct VP is not available (vacation, conference, other) a temporary approval may be accepted with conditional approval.
Catering services cannot be provided without VP approval or temporary approval provided by requestor to HandCut Foods catering department in advance of the event.
